Commitment
Accessibility
Family Nurturing Center of Massachusetts is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation. We want every caregiver, provider, and supporter to be able to find what they need here.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities. We review new pages and features against this standard as the site grows.
The accessibility toolbar
Every page includes an accessibility toolbar, opened from the button in the lower left corner of the screen. It lets you adjust the site to suit you without any downloads or plugins:
- Increase or decrease the text size
- Switch to a more readable font and add extra spacing between letters, words, and lines
- Highlight every link on the page
- Boost contrast or view the site in grayscale
- Enlarge the mouse cursor
- Pause animations and motion
Your choices are remembered on your device as you move through the site.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. Some older documents and third-party tools embedded on our site (such as donation and event registration forms) may not yet fully meet our standard. We are working to improve these over time.
Tell us about a barrier
If you run into a page, document, or feature you cannot use, please tell us so we can help you and fix the problem. Contact us at info@familynurturing.org or (617) 474-1143. Please include the page address and a description of the difficulty, and we will respond as quickly as we can.
