Refer a Family

Connect a family with FNC’s programs and services.

One form covers every program. Have this ready before you start:

  • The family’s name and contact information
  • Their neighborhood: Allston/Brighton, Dorchester, Hyde Park, or Chelsea
  • Languages spoken at home
  • The programs you have in mind
  • Whether you have discussed the referral with the family
  • Your name, title, agency, and work contact

Programs you can refer to

  • Nurturing Programs
  • ParentChild+
  • Parent Education
  • Playgroups
  • Welcome Baby Home Visit
  • Trainings

Not sure which one fits? Tell us about the family on the form and our team will take it from there.

Referring from DCF?

If you are a DCF social worker referring a client for a Nurturing Parenting Program, Nurturing Fathers' Program, or other parenting education, please contact your lead agent to enter your referral in the DCF Virtual Gateway. Thank you.

Training

Training & Capacity Building

FNC offers training and provider resources to nurture leaders and expand capacity to strengthen families throughout the region.

Family Nurturing Center is the nationally recognized training and technical assistance provider in Massachusetts for the Nurturing Parenting® Program curriculum. In this role, FNC provides training and mentoring in the delivery of this evidence-based model to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) and to other agencies and individuals in Boston and statewide.

FNC offers a wide range of provider and parent leadership training and professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and 3-day Facilitator Trainings. As lead agent of the Boston Family Engagement Network, we convene opportunities for learning, rest, and renewal for family support professionals throughout the city.

Community

Coalition & Community Building

FNC recognizes that healthy parenting is critical to a child’s well-being, but it cannot happen in a vacuum.

Neighbors serve trays of food from a long table at an outdoor community celebration on a sunny fall day, one woman in traditional embroidered dress.

Our Coalition and Community Building team creates opportunities for families to advocate for and build the communities they envision—communities that are safe, healthy and joyful places to raise thriving children.

Through community and cultural events, healing and support groups following instances of community violence, and access to material resources (like diapers and healthy food), FNC is disrupting generations of marginalization and centering the people who matter most to us: Boston’s families.

Let’s work together

Training, technical assistance, and coalition partnerships all start with a conversation. Tell us what your agency needs.
